Crocheting

Hi, I'm way behind of my crochet. The unfinished piece of my yarn was going to be made into a scarf as a start. Does anybody know how to finish making a scarf by crocheting? Can anyone help me? An elderly lady I've met was showing and telling me how, but, I haven't seen her in a long time.
