Funky smell downtown

Since this is the month of love & hot sex, my bae & I have been busy, it's been fun. I started using vaginal gel in addition with condoms for a two weeks now, but I've started noticing a funky smell which I've never had before downtown.
I've decided to lay off the gel to see if it'll go, cos I'm the kinda girl who doesn't let her man go there until I'm sure I'm clean. Hygiene is very important to me as well as what I eat. Just wanna know if anyone has had this before? I appreciate your suggestions.
