What's the best way to drive out hate?

My favorite quote of all time is "darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that"- MLK and I feel like the sooner people realize this the sooner this world can become a better place. So what's your opinion on the best way to drive out hate?

Knowledge. Love is easier said than done. Some people recognize love as a noun, but not a verb. 
This question is interesting because I think it represents the two perspectives during the Civil Rights Movement. MLK believed in love, Malcolm X believed in knowledge.

Love and ignoring it. Most people want to be "recognized" for the hate that they feel. Not fueling their fire is half the battle.

Definitely knowledge. Fear and hatred come from a place of ignorance. Tolerance blossoms in an understanding of differences and that different isn't bad. Either one would be really good right about now. Tolerance is the first step.

I'd say both love and knowledge. If you learn (knowledge) to love the things you hate, you have room to change the way you think about things. I also think the more you love in life, the less room you have for hatred.

To me, love conquers all. Violence is not the answer and I really don't think knowledge has anything to do with it to be honest. Yes, knowledge is power. Knowledge of what, exactly? Think about it! But, knowledge ain't shit if you're a shitty person. And love is so many wonderful things. It's love, kindness and compassion. It's service and charity. It's tolerance. It's empathy. Need I go on? All those feelings are far greater than the power of knowledge because even if you KNOW that something is this, this and this... love often defies that, that and that. Meaning, you can have all the knowledge in the world and most of us do, we have all the knowledge in the world at our fingertips! With a click of a button nowadays, it's easy to do your own research, read up about any given topic, hear other people's thoughts and opinions and listen to their stories, or read a book, a magazine article, watch the news, etc etc, inorder to educate ourselves, but Love is ultimately what makes you want to stand up for what's right, regardless of whatever it is that you think you know, or have been taught, or have been told by others on both sides of the fence. So, my answer is Love. And only Love, and what do ya know? That's probably the best kind of knowledge of all. So, if we allow Love to replace everything we think we know, whether it's wrong, or not, then we can start changing the way we see others, and ourselves and start actually doing all the things that we need to be doing, out of love, and sometimes inspite of knowledge!
