Any breast feeding moms? (need advice)

I am a first time mom and decided to breast  feed. I was wondering if any of you could tell me how to releive sore heavy feeling breast?

If you can, take a breast feeding class before baby gets here. I just took one at the hospital I'll be delivering at and feel so much more confident now.

Well if you have a soaking tub I would suggest a warm bath. If not that a hot shower helps. If you have a breast pump you could use it to help release some pressure but be careful cause it can back fire. It can cause you to over produce. Sounds like you might be engorged. You can use a cold pack but just a few minutes after nursing. Like no more that 5-10 minutes. A very supportive bra helps and you can also massage them. It will go away in a day or so. Watch out for a fever cause you can develop an infection if your breast doesn't empty properly. Make sure you get a good latch as well.

Nurse/pump just a little for a little relief. They are really big at first but soon balance out a bit with the demand put on them from nursing. Just remember the more you remove the more you produce too.

Massage helped me. My breasts felt so heavy sometimes also nursing frequently seemed to help. A store where i live sells a balm gor manual massage for nursing moms it did wonders
