I am so pissed how much water can our 6 month olds have?

I read they can only have 2 oz all day. I found out her grandfather gave her 4 oz at once of just water without even asking me. 
She had an entire box of formula why the fuck he didn't give her formula I'll never understand. 
Is this okay? I'm a first time mom and I am so pissed and worried.

If you're this concerned then contact her pediatrician, but it's just water so I don't think it will harm her. She will pee it out.

The only problem with water this young is filling up their belly with no nutrients. It's good for them to have a little bit of water with meals to get used to it. A little extra water one day won't hurt just don't do it constantly and make sure you're doing your best to still give enough formula so they get their calories for the day.

I'm a nurse and they can have 1 ounce for every month old they are. So she could have 6 ounces in a day.

I've seen some posts on here where mom's are giving babies 2 oz of water a couple times a day but I'm not sure.. I don't think it hurts, I read that your not supposed to give water jus because it tricks the brain into feeling full but they don't get any nutrients from it

I always prefer formulla over water i give water in between. If it didnt effect her intake on milk she may have been thirsty. Its hot where im from

If she's 6 months she should be drinking 6 ounces of water.
