My obgyn never said anything about it.  I never knew of such shot until at 41 weeks when I went in active labor and the nurse asked of I had it. I looked at her weird and said "what's that".
After she explained,  I told her I was never offered one and never knew about it. She asked me if I want to get it now and I declined as I was already in mid contractions and enough pain..
