I'm currently pregnant with my 4th baby. I had my first 2 vaginally and my 3rd was csection due to cord prolapse. My first was 8lbs 1oz My second was 9lbs 11oz and my third was 9lbs 6oz. I've been reading about VBAC and I came across an article that says studies show the chances of a successful VBAC decrease by 50% if the baby weighs over 8lbs. That ideally a baby no bigger than 7lbs 11oz would give the mother a significantly greater chance of success. Which for me leaves induction to try to avoid a big baby. Unfortunately, induction is not something that is safe for a VBAC because it can cause uterine rupture. I also have to keep in mind that I had pre eclampsia with my 3rd and have a greater chance of developing it this time which would ultimately lead to the dr needing to take the baby early. Since induction drugs are not recommended for VBAC I'd most likely end up with a csection. I feel defeated, like there's no chance of me having a VBAC. Anyone been in a similar situation? What happened?
