any ideas??

Sorry it's long. Stick with me.
So my step son came back from his mothers today with a rash on his face. (FYI she's a pathological liar so I barely believe her when she tells me her real name) but any ways.
She could not tell us when it started. Only called us at 7am to tell us. She did not give him medicine. We applied a steroid cream and gave him Benadryl and he wanted to go to school. He has no other symptoms. No fever, no pain, no itchiness etc.
We did not take him to the doctors but spoke with the nurse and she said to continue what we were doing and if it got worse to make an appointment the school nurse said the same thing.
We have been washing his face with a mild soap and applying cream and Benadryl. His nose is raw from wiping so we applied Vaseline. He sounds congested and has a slight cough. Very sporadic. Still no fever. No Itching. He doesn't even notice the bumps are there. They almost look like little pimples. Would anyone have any clue to what it could possibly be?
They have been getting better. He has about 3 little bumps on his arms but nothing major. Majority of them are right in his cheeks and under chin.
