trying to figure out when O was

This is my first cycle TTC. I've been on seasonique (4 periods a year) for something like 12 years. I'm just a bit confused because... on CD18, I had EWCM but my opk was negative. I got my period this past Sunday, which would suggest that (if I "Oed") it was on the 28th, or CD 17. I was lazy that weekend and didn't temp because who wants to wake up at 6am on a weekend?!

1. I was expecting my cycle to be longer because they were 90 days on seasonique and I thought there was no way I would have a "normal" cycle immediately. Therefore, I didn't have sex more than once during the fertile window.

2. When my period finished today, I saw what I think is the lining of an egg. Not sure, but it was kinda gelatinous/ solid and dark red. If that was what I'm thinking, then that is evidence that I ovulated... so why am I not pregnant? Did I ovulate later than I think? Did I not ovulate at all? What's tripping me up is the negative opk conflicting with the EWCM.

P.S. The long gap in temping from CD24-29 was because I lost my thermometer! Too many pillows, lol!
