I had back labor with both labors.  It felt like someone was taking a hammer and smashing my spine to pieces.  They had my husband pushy spine back down bc with every contraction the baby would push it out a bit . I prayed to God to let me die both times  (not meaning it) . I still don't know how a body can take such horrific pain and still live through it. Every contraction was pure agony... yet here I am pregnant with number three.. equally if not more afraid of labor.  I've read though that some women have little to no pain and really have no complaints through the whole process.  It really depends on a lot of factors and there isn't a way to really determine if it's going to be okay or excruciating.  Either way we all continue to do it bc the end result is truly a miracle!!

Like cramps so bad it felt like my pelvis was breaking.

Intense pressure and tightening pain that radiated up from my bikini area up to the top of my belly. Don't be scared , try to think of it as your body doing exactly what it's supposed to and with every contraction you're getting closer to meeting your baby. I would just close my eyes, and breath , and imagine myself rising up a hill and then back down and it then the contraction was over . I labored for quite a long time before I decided to get the epidural. And it was doable without it but I knew if I was going to have enough strength to push I needed it - then all you might feel is some pressure. I ultimately ended up with an emergency c-section after like 54 hrs , but just remember a healthy baby is the goal so do whatever works!! Good luck

Mine felt like extremely sharp pains. It would start low and radiate up my belly, slowly getting more and more intense. Didn't feel anything like period cramps to me-and I suffer from severe menstrual cramps. My water had broken-idk if that makes a difference in what contractions feel like...🤔

Intense period cramps was what mine felt like. Its been a year since I had my daughter and I've completely forgotten how much pain I was in. So much so that sometimes I feel I had this wonderful relaxing labor then my husband reminds me what actually happened when I start talking about a second child. It's just one day and you get the be reward at the end.
