How much are you spending? Inviting? Does your spouse think its a silly idea?

I am. And I don't care what anyone says tbh lol. Everyone's telling me "don't, waste of money, they don't even know" like um.... who says I'm spending thousands of dollars on a party. It's called being creative and spending at dollar tree and making a cheap party into something amazing and adorable. My son loves Mickey so... his theme is Mickey.. and let me tell you this.. all his stuff I'm working on.. all from dollar tree. Yup! A DOLLAR TREE STORE! Looks beautiful!  Ill post pics!

I have issues with going over the top 😩 I will try to be modest . But my budget for her first birth will start at $500 and up  . I know I have a problem but I love parties and celebrating she's my first born .

I am doing a party at my house. Family and some friends. I'm going a little Pinterest crazy right now trying to come up with a theme. My husband thinks I'm a little nuts but he can't be surprised. I did throw a sweet 16 party for my cats, (siblings born at my dads farm) complete with candles in chicken breasts. He had to know this was coming. I will do my best not to go overboard but I love parties.

Not a real party. A few balloons, a smash cake, and family. Going to be that way until she is 3 or 4 probably

We will. We did with our first. Family came over. We had a cookout. With food probably spent $150 total. Which is fine since we never have the whole family over like that. Our second was born 6 days before Christmas though so no cookout for him. We will have to figure something else out.

I've given thought to this and decided the only thing that really matters is the cake picture. Years from now that will be the only photo anyone cares to see, and the only part baby will actually enjoy. At least that's how I feel. Money can be better spent elsewhere, and too much stimulation from a large party will just drain baby and mom. As for family and guests etc they'll understand short visits on babies schedule are better for everyone anyway.
Ultimately, you have to ask who is the party really for? And how much time and energy you'll really have.

Yes we are having two. One where we live in GA with all of our friends and their kids. And then one in SC with family members. My daughter is 16 weeks and I'm already planning it and going to start shopping soon!

My baby's only 3 weeks old so it's far away but I definitely plan on having a party for her 1st bday. I won't spend much money though - I'll save that for birthdays she'll remember.

Yup... i'm totally excited about it. We haven't talked about the budget yet but i think i'll start buying party decors little by little so i don't have to spent such money at one time. So the food is the only thing we're gonna worry about when he'll finally have his party. And also i don't think my husband likes the idea. Bcos in our religion, celebrating birthday is a totally no. But can we just let everyone we love come and have a good time because my baby is finally entering toddlerhood? ☹️

We are. We are going to make almost everything and keep spending to under $50. For guests, I know we will invite both sets of grandparents and the aunts/uncles/cousins. Not sure about beyond that. It'll be around 30 people. Her theme is going to be Frozen since she adores Elsa right now.
