Makeup group controversy

WV
Earlier today on Facebook, a makeup group I am in had a big controversy and I was just curious to hear opinions from women who (appear to be) more educated and open minded than the majority of women in that group.
The creator of the group made a rule, for safety reasons no straight man was allowed to be added to the group. Her reasoning was that no straight man would have any motive for wanting to be in a makeup group other than to prey on women (and the children under 13 allowed in the group, for whatever reason) and that the women who were adding them just wanted attention and should leave the group if that's what they want.
This caused a big commotion from some women claiming that it wasn't right to say a straight man interested in makeup should not be allowed in the group and others die hard agreeing that no matter what a straight man should not be allowed, some even saying because it isn't natural. 🙄
My personal opinion, because I have a straight male friend who actually likes to play around with makeup, is that their sexual orientation should have nothing to do with it. She says gay men are the only men allowed. I don't see why anyone who is interested in learning about makeup and is curious about it should be excluded. And if anyone is there for any reason other than makeup/beauty they shouldn't be in. If anyone says anything out of the way in the group they should be removed of course, and I most definitely don't believe young children should be on there anyway. I felt like it was just, sexist, the whole thread was horrible.
It seemed crazy to me how they were acting over this, so I wanted to see more opinions :)
