Did you change name idea after seeing baby?

Question

Me and my husband have about 8 names on a list that we like and I honestly don't think I can narrow down the list any further. It seems so hard to name our baby without seeing her in person first.

So before I try to narrow down my list... just curious have any of you went in to the hospital with a name picked or a couple options even and then totally changed it once you met him/her?

My feeling was that my baby would look like... a cute little squishy baby.  So we picked names that spoke to us and they grew into them 🙃

I was set on naming my first son Jaden. As soon as I held him and saw him for the first time that all went out the window and named him Aydric 💙😍. You will know for sure once they are in Your arms.

We have a list we're going to re-evaluate when baby is born since we are going to wait for birth to find out the gender.

I am so dead set on the names I've chosen that I PERSONALLY won't do that, BUT I actually think its a really good idea to not decide until you meet the baby! I feel like its so much more special to see your baby and just know shes a _____ rather than a _____. I worry that I will see my baby and feel like he doesnt look like the name we chose. But SO & I love the name so much, we're sticking with it. Hopefully it works out!

Nope ❤ chose both names and kept to them. Most babies just look like babies and I found it so odd that people would change the name depending on babies looks. I think a baby looks like a baby and it doesn't change it any.

No. I picked my daughters name at 22 weeks and didn't change it. I picked my son's name at 9 weeks and didn't change it.

But I think a lot of people bring lists with them and wait to see which one "fits".

Nope. I picked my son's name at 11 weeks before we even knew for sure it was a boy. We didn't even hardly discuss any girl names because my babys father kept saying he already knew it was a boy and would be a waste of time. Lol

When my niece was born, my brother and SIL let me be in the room. They had pretty much picked the name Carly for her (I say pretty much because up until she went into labor they weren't totally sure), but when she came out, we all looked at her and said NO WAY. They picked Kylie instead and six years later we're so glad haha. For my own daughter, we picked her name so far in advance and she was Avery Mae every single day. That was her identity whether she wanted it to be or not haha, and I think it was so attached to her by the time she was born that there was no way we would've thought she looked like anything else. If you're iffy about it, just keep one or two names in mind and wait until you see your babe!
