first appointment ??

My first appointment will be March 7th where I'll be 6weeks pregnant . Is it safe to do a ultrasound then or will my doctor not do one for me ? Curious

Depends on your doctor and your insurance, call and ask them!

My insurance only covers 2 ultrasounds. In that case, they usually wait till 8 weeks when they can see more, unless you're high risk. And the second would be at 20 or more when they're able to measure and check gender.

You'll probably have a vaginal ultrasound. Your baby is too small to see with an over the stomach. It's completely, totally safe. It's NOT true that a transvaginal us will cause you to miscarry.  But at only 6w, it's also possible your doc won't do a US at all because it's very likely baby is too small to see or hear. So if they look and don't see anything but a sac, don't be scared!!

Depends on the doctor. Some do the dating scan then. Some don't. But it's safe.
