asking mom for bc

So I really want to go on birth control pills for sex,but i have no idea how to tell my mom.My mom is actually pretty chill and we have a close relationship and I don't think she will be mad plus I'm 16,going to be 17 in the summer so i think I'm okd enough but I'm just scared to do it and I don't know how to tell her do i just go up to her and ask "can i go on the pill?" Or do I explain first and then ask.I can't randomly get the pill either because I don't live in America and we don't have planned parenthood
