my birth story🍼💙🎉

Emilee
On the 19th I went in at 10pm to get induced at our local hospital. We ended up having to wait in the waiting room for about  and hour due to the fact that they were cleaning the few rooms they had left.
At 11pm we finally got checked in and settled into the room, and by 12:30am they had the cervadil inserted in order to try and start dilation. I started having contractions around 3am and they continued throughout the day until around 1pm when they started me on pitocin. At 1pm I still wasn't dilated at all and I was about 70% effaced. The pitocin made the contractions continue and they began to get very uncomfortable around 3pm. However they completely stopped at 6pm. Still wasn't dilated.
The doctor decided to let me eat however I didn't get to actually eat anything until about 12:30am on February 21st due to the baby's heartbeat dropping off and on when I would lay in certain positions. By the time i finally ate I had gone over 24 hrs without anything put popsicles and ice chips. Right after I ate they began me on another round of cervadil.
That morning my doctor came in to find that the second round of cervadil still caused no dilation. He had already began to give me another round of pitocin and informed me that if nothing occurred by the end of the day he was going to perform a c-section.
At around 11am on February 21st my water broke. But again still no dilation. So they decided on a c-section. After an hour or so of getting prepped for surgery my husband got there and began to get prepped as well. Around 6pm they took me back to the operating room to perform the spinal tap.
I sat there crying due to being so scared, as they tried 5 times to put the needle in my spine. I kept feeling it scrape against my bones, and after their 5th try I was told that they were going to have to put me under anesthesia to deliver the baby. My husband balled his eyes out due to being scared and bc I had to be back there alone.
The surgery only took about an hour, and by 7:25pm he was out. I woke up to him crying, and scared the crap out of the nurses since I woke up so quickly. I got to hold my beautiful baby boy as they took me back to the recovery room and soon my husband and parents also got to come meet our little miracle! He was 7lbs 10oz and 19 inches long, born February 21st, 2017! Without further ado, I would like you to meet Elijah Alan Richeson!!!❤️💙💘💜💓🎉🍼
