racial profiling?

Is this racial profiling? Our community has been targeted by teenagers from other communities and they've been stealing things from cars, breaking into homes, and vandalizing private properties. A boy with a hoodie and pink backpack was seen walking around during the evening and one of the neighbors alerted the community because he didn't recognize him and seemed suspicious to him.

I uploaded screenshots of the emails of the situation which was sent to everyone in the neighborhood. They're in the order in which they were sent.

The person who alerted the community is the one with the pink markings, the boy's mom is orange, and the green and purple markings are just other neighbors.

Personally I don't think an alert was necessary in the first place. Had he been real close to someone's home and looking in the windows or something then that makes sense. But walking slowly and looking around doesn't raise much suspicion in my opinion. Also didn't seem like the person who sent the email was racial profiling. I didn't see race mentioned at all, just a description of what they were wearing. 
Sidenote I wouldn't recognize anyone in my community either seeing how I don't talk to anyone so being alerted because of that seems silly. That's just me though not speaking for anyone else.

I swear I read this 10 times and never once was race mentioned in the original comment.
I'm guessing the person who responded ont white and is calling racial profiling just to start drama.

If the original poster hadn't seen that particular person before and the community is currently alerted to some issues they were only being cautious, no harm done. I know plenty of folks who get suspicious of not-so-strange-yet-strange-enough things. My father gets very suspicious of new cars in our small dead end road which would make sense if we didn't have entirely new neighbors and there are people who they hired to work on it coming and going.

Doesn't seem like racial profiling to me. Maybe profiling due to age lol but not race. Atleast I never read race mentioned at all. I can't say if the person was actually racially profiling since in none of it was anything about race mentioned until being accused of racially profiling. I know my neighborhood had increased vandalism at one point and anyone and everything that even seemed that they or it could be a problem was reported prolly 98% being innocent. It just happens.

All the confused commenters on this thread seem to have a similar background so I'll try to make it clear. He is walking around HIS neighborhood. He was not seen touching anyone's property nor walking on anyone property. His mere presence alone was worthy of alerting the entire neighborhood to some asstwat. Why do you say? His age? Come on now people. It's ridiculous that people say "why is everything about race" when that is the exact reason why he was profiled. Let's not forget Trayvon Martin, another young black male walking is his neighborhood wearing a hoodie on a rainy day who was stalked and murdered by a fake security guard with no life. So please, lock your shit up before you put someone's child in danger because of your ignorance.

No way is it racial profiling. The first email was just someone saying hey I seen someone I don't remember seeing before walking around. Sames to be walking very slow and looking for something. Than trying to remind people to lock the car and house especially with the recent break-ins. The mom just was letting people know that it sounded like her kid. Not sure why anyone would think that it is racial profiling.

Not racial profiling but we've had similar things happen in our neighborhood. Someone reported a "suspicious" looking guy on a motorcycle coming in at about 3pm every day. He was just a neighbor coming home from work haha. 
I think the whole spiel about the "disappointed in racial profiling" comment was unnecessary and a bit baiting. The parent handled it very maturely. There was really no need to entice more argument or place more opinions on top of it besides an "I'm sorry on behalf of our community and thank you for telling us".

Definitely NOT RACIAL PROFILING.  ..not even in a slight way.  This is another example of someone using race as a way to cry out unfair treatment.  As far as I can see race wasn't mentioned in the original email at all . What's the poster racially profiling ... the kids pink back pack ? If there has been crime In the neighbourhood and anyone sees someone they don't recognize walking around  (especislly in a hoodie and backpack) then it makes sense to report it . If it's a member of the community then no harm no foul. ..you're supposed to report anything that feels off.  Again race wasn't mentioned AT ALL , the only person who ebrpught race up was this kids mom. .. before everyone jumps down my throat.  I'm black end Puerto Rican,  with some white mixed in there.  I'm not some privileges white women saying racism doesn't exist.  I'm saying in this case racism wasn't in play at all , although mom tried to make it about race.  She's teaching her children to pull the "race card " and to look at themselves as victims of the world.  Not a good way to raise kids.  My brother caused some trouble growing up and not once did my parents say it was racial.  "Oh it's because he's brown" nope . ...it was bc he was acting like an asshole.  💚
