Should I buy a HPT?

Okay, so here's the issue. My period was supposed to show up Tuesday (2/21). It appeared (I guess?) on Sunday (2/19). However, I didn't actually have a period. It was just spotting for 4 days. Mostly brown stains and a little bit of actual blood. Normally, I have a medium to heavy flow. I'm inclined to think it was my bc (got off then got back on), but I didn't keep up with it properly. So…opinions?
