BF is different over video chat than text

My boyfriend and I of a year and a half are long distance due to college. We talk every day and video chat when we have the chance, which is about two or three times a week. When we text, he's completely different than when we talk over video chat. He gets mad easier and he is less caring. When we video chat, he's the complete opposite. He would be like, "Babe, it's okay. You're fine. Don't worry. You didn't do anything wrong." Over text, he would be very accusing and he would make me feel guilty for making him upset or mad. It makes me feel like I have to walk on eggshells when we text and that doesn't make me feel safe, but when we video chat, everything is wonderful. We've talked it out before and he said that he's like that because he's so far away from me.
