What do actual labor contractions feel like when they begin?

I'm just curious to see what your actual labor contractions (the beginning ones) have felt like or how people have described them to you especially in comparison to Braxton hicks. I just never want to go to the hospital in false pre-term labor since it seems like a waste of time. Thanks!

Where Braxton hicks felt like an uncomfortable tightness, contractions had the same sensation but also had a sharp pain in the uterus and an ache throughout the back. Plus, Braxton hick came on suddenly and contractions would start and get progressively worse over the period of about a minute then stop. 
The person before posted that it felt like diarrhea cramps and I totally agree! The beginning felt like mild period cramps and the peak of the contraction felt like the worst diarrhea pain.

Active labor seriously felt like diarrhea cramps that lasted for a solid minute 😂 They weren't terrible. Transition felt worse but didn't last long.

My contractions felt like period cramps. I always had THE WORST cramps, they started off mild and became horrible, but they felt like period cramps the whole time.
