inducing possibly?

Just wanting to know, I'm 38 weeks and I've been having 5 minute apart back contractions for days but my body isn't dilating past a 2 1/2 but I'm completely effaced I found out as of today. labor and delivery let me leave for the night with pain medication to help me sleep and since I have an appointment later today. The plan is to induce me next week but I was wondering  if anyone knows since my contractions are so bad where I can't talk through them, sit still or walk around during them and consistent where I'm in tears through every one if it's even possible if I ask my doctor today if she'll induce me this week instead of next or if it's a strict no and have to wait till 39 weeks? I'm in the state of Texas if that matters since I think different states do different things. I'm not trying to take the easy way out and have him early but I honestly can't take the pain and hate that I had to resort to them giving me narcotics and it's giving me so much anxiety dealing with it all day and night and not sleeping /:
