Would it be weird to wear lingerie for a hook up?

So, I've been seeing this guy a couple times over the last few months to have sex. He's basically a fuck buddy. I've had this really cute white laced lingerie set and I always wanted to wear them but have no one to wear them for. Would it be alright to wear it for my fuck buddy? I'm afraid he would react badly or say something along the lines of, "you should wear that when you get a boyfriend" or something :/
