Breastfeed or bottle?

Eryn

I have multiple sclerosis. Up until I got off medications in April to TTC, it was well managed by meds (none of which are pregnancy or breastfeeding-safe). Since coming off medications, my MS has taken a turn for the worse. It's supposed to go into remission during pregnancy, but I'm still having relapses. I so badly want to breastfeed my baby for as long as possible, but I'm afraid I will have to start back on treatment ASAP to minimize my relapse after baby (common after birth with MS). If I start baby breastfeeding in the hospital or for the first few days, is it harder to transition to a bottle? Should I start out with a bottle from the beginning? I want baby to get as much nutrients and support from breast milk as long as I can, but I don't want to put in effort to get him to latch, just to have to transition to a bottle and confuse him again.

Any mama's that had to switch to bottles shortly after learning to BF, have any issues teaching baby to use a bottle?
