Whoever said no is just plain ignorant 🙄 I smoked MARIJUANA every night and all day mostly TTC and I'm 4 months pregnant so fuck all the haters, do what you want! I'm so sick of people!

Studies in jamaica (you can look them up yourself) show no developmental issues with infants born to mothers who smoke marijuana daily (without rolling it in tobacco). They were actually developmentally ahead the first few years and were all developmentally on track with non smoking mothers children by age 5....their studies didnt reflect any of the negative bias present is US studies bc the states do not isolate marijuana in fetal studies but lump it together with all other illicit drugs (cocaine, heroine, alcohol, etc.). Also knowing a few mothers personally who smoked during the beginning of their pregnancies for various reasons (some with dr permission actually) and  their babies are perfectly fine. Fat happy and smart. I smoke daily and I dont plan on stopping until i get a BFP and my dr tells me to. Do what you want. Its honestly such a low chance of getting pregnant every month that acting as if youre already pregnant while ttc can put a huge toll on you mentally esp if it starts to take longer than a few months to concieve. At that point youre just depriving yourself of regular pleasures for nothing but disappointment at the end of the cycle... Thats just my personal opinion. Im a daily smoker, grad student, and have been ttc for 10 almost 11 months and its not worth the stress of NOT smoking until you get a BFP in my opinion.

I know people who want to smoke will smoke... and while you're ttc I don't think you should really restrict drinking because it'll just make you feel frustrated every time it's a BFN... but I think once you get a BFP your body is no longer your own and I guess it applies to marijuana too. However, My sister is a NICU RN and she sees babies born to mothers who abuse substances and then have babies have addiction issues. Now, things with marijuana have not been studied, therefor there is no hardcore evidence... but once you're sharing your body I think it's pretty wrong to expose your child to stuff that can't be good for a fetus. Now, again, there may not be hardcore evidence, but inhaling anything into your lungs is not normal or good for your lungs... then sharing that with your child? Just seems so selfish to me.

I have read that Marijuana is not good for developing brains. So, unborn children and children under 18 really shouldn't take or smoke it because it can effect their brain development. I personally don't smoke at all, and I would advise you to not smoke while ttc or while pregnant just for developmental reasons. You want what is best for the baby!

Here's my problem with it more than just the legal and moral problems of illegal substances. But let's pretend that wasn't the case... you will not know you are pregnant till you are often nearly 5 weeks pregnant. My friend finally got a positive and is 7.5 weeks according to an ultrasound. Since you can not know at the moment of conception that is why a dr will inform you to act pregnant when trying to conceive. Alcohol, prescriptions, and drugs is VERY capable of effecting whatever is being developed at the time of usage. So if you do research into what is being developed within the 8 weeks you may not know you are pregnant, it could very well make you reconsider any unwise decisions. There is a large focus on nuerological development. So you could in essence be damaging  neurological development. We can't control everything in a pregnancy so it stands to reason to control and act responsibly in anything and everything we can. This is coming from a girl who has had 4 miscarriages in a year. Trust me... don't leave yourself room for doubt  if something is your fault if something was to happen. It will drive you crazy. Hope this helps. Wishing you wise choices and good luck.
