Baby shoes? Yes or no??

Question

My LO doesn't keep on socks for more than 2', even worse when it comes to shoes... I never had the intention to put on shoes when we're at home and I don't bother yet when we're out as she's in her stroller. But my MIL has been driving me nuts that she should wear shoes all the time... she has this theory that if she doesn't her feet will not form properly and they'll be too wide... Keep in mind that my LO just takes a few steps when at home and that assisted... what do you guys think???

Barefoot is actually best for the baby! Just read an article on this it helps them strengthening their feet and ankles. I just got my son his first pair of shoes the only time I put them on is when we are in public and he wants to do the finger walk around. He is into the finger walk so I had to get him a pair.  Otherwise he is barefoot or has socks on. I wish I had the article but I vetyih can search it that barefoot is best for baby!

We put socks on our daughter all the time right now, because it's winter here, but I just use shoes as a fashion accessory at this point. She doesn't seem to care one way or the other. As far as foot development goes... I have no resources for how shoes affect feet, but I would assume going barefoot/in socks would allow feet to develop properly. I don't think shoes are needed to "form" their feet. But that's just my opinion, no facts to back up my thought process...

My lo rarely wears shoes. Like maybe a few times. In theory, babies bones are so malleable that putting them in a shoe at an early age can cause the foot to form in a way that isn't normal. Which in turn would create problems in the future. Once they start walking then properly made shoes like stride rite and fitted to your child properly. I wouldn't and aren't bothering with shoes until she starts walking!

We put shoes on our daughter 8 months now. Mostly bc she will take her socks off the first chance she gets. She's starting to want to walk now so we bought her a decent pair of tennis shoes with Velcro instead of laces.

They're annoying to put on in my opinion and unnecessary until they walk I think. I'm not a fan of shoes myself lol so I have a habit of not making my son do things I don't like to do

My baby refuses point blank to wear socks or shoes, she turns into a magician because she somehow has them off her feet in seconds!

I don't know about if it does anything to the feet by not wearing them but I people have told me that as they get older they won't want to wear socks and shoes if you don't put them on when they are younger. My daughter wears socks everyday as we live in New England and it's winter. I put her in shoes every once in a while and have been trying to more lately.
