Arcuate vs Subseptate Uterus

Tonnia
Hello everyone, I am 43yo, TTC for 17 months (nearly a year and a half), no children, no successful pregnancies (one early miscarriage one year ago). I just finally started going an RE in January of this year. She is pretty amazing and I have so much hope, working with her. After all of the tests, we have learned that there a several relatively smaller issues that can be addressed with medications (i.e. imbalance in estradiol/progesterone, TSH levels, vitamin D levels)... and my husband's semen analysis came back with great scores in all fronts (count, motility, and shape). But, I have also learned that I have an abnormally shaped uterus... apparently, what may or may not be a septum is small enough to make it difficult to determine if it is fibrous (subseptate) or just unconcerningly curvy (arcuate). So, my RE wants to do a hysteroscopic septum resection... her plan is to go in and nick the tissue to see if it bleeds... if it does, it is not fibrous and merely curvy and she will then leave it alone. If it does not bleed, indicating that it is fibrous tissue, she will then remove it. I know that this is a relatively simple surgery, as far as surgeries go, but I have never had any surgery before. Ever. (Aside from oral surgery to remove my wisdom teeth at age 19). So, I'm feeling quite anxious. At the same time, I'm quite hopeful, thinking of the possibility that our infertility issues may be corrected with one procedure! The mixed emotions have my head spinning. So, I'm wondering if there is anyone else here who have had this surgery... what was you experience like and how was the outcome afterward? Thank you!
