Shaving vs waxing...

I normally wax my privates before I used to laser them. But now I'm 22 weeks pregnant and its getting a bit out of hand down there. I want to take them out but im afraid of waxing if it causes harm or not so I though about shaving it but I dont feel it will last as much... whats your suggestion? :x
