Sullivan a gender neutral name?

My husband and I really love the name Sullivan for our baby girl. Elise would be her middle name after her grandmother. Some people say it's a boy name and some say they've only seen it as a last name. Either way we love it. Thoughts?

People are naming their children after all sorts of ridiculous things... this one doesn't even enter the same ballpark! So I say go for it! If you're going for something "unique" then you've got it! It's different w/o being absolutely laugh out loud ridiculous.. Or ridiculous @ all.

My name is Ashleigh... A lot of people don't know, but that's actually a boys name, women just seemed to have  taken over the gender for the name...I think Sullivan is cute.. We're naming our daughter Ridleigh, that's technically a guys name cause of Ridley Scott.. but I like it and that's what her name will be... Kathryn (Ridleigh). I'm a 4th generation Kathryn. I've only ever met one person with that last name and she was a girl, I did call her Sully instead of her actual name and she loved it!
