We've been together for 6 months and I love him to pieces.

I just found out he he voted for Trump.

I don't know what to think.

Gahhhh. Fuck.

I am a complete feminist.

Do I just disregard this?

We are 20.

In 6mos he didn't give you a reason not to be in love with him, and the only thing that changed is that you found out who he voted for? Doesn't that sound a little ridiculous?

Found out what his basis was. Find out the deeper reasons why he voted for Trump. Do so in a nonconfrontational manner and with an open mind. If you find that the core values he has about certain issues don't align with yours, then you have something to work on and the two of you can decide how to proceed. If not, then just look past it and continue to grow as a couple. 
Remember to do this with an open mind and in a nonconfrontational manner.

Not worth fighting over politics.. But I am not into politics, pretty much completely indifferent to it and don't care who someone votes for. Personally it wouldn't be a big deal for me, but maybe it's different for you. How important is it to you?

I think it's important. Ask him why, and try to get an understanding of where he's coming from. It's hard because so much of who we are as individuals is wrapped into who we vote for. Tell him why you didn't. If he can at least appreciate your differences of opinion, then you're in the right track. If not, then you know you dodged a bullet. Fundamental disagreements make any long term relationship really difficult.

I guess you should find out why he voted for him. How important are politics to you? That's what's going to determine how well y'all get along. If you've been great the past 6 months without knowing then I think that speaks more volumes. I know people who voted for Trump just because he was the Republican candidate and they honestly didn't care. Again, you're just gonna have to find out if there are deeper reasons for his decision to vote for Trump.

Since you haven't been together very long, I would consider ending the relationship. If you were married and shared a house, finances, kids etc it would be different. But get out while you still can.

Normally I would not say you should end a relationship over politics. But the Trump election does not fall under the realm of normal politics. It's not like you disagree on trade agreements; a vote for Trump is a vote for a bigot.
