Transition at an early age...

Hey all! I'm all for living as your "authentic self," whatever that means to you. Today, I read an article about a small girl (pre-teen) whose mother allowed her to begin living as her authentic self (being born a male, and now living as a young girl) beginning at age 8. To each their own, no judgement here, but I was SHOCKED when I read dozens of comments like the ones attached below the post. What is your opinion?
