Why do some women, like Jessica Simpson, gain so much weight during pregnancy?

What does it mean if you have an extremely big bump? My bump is SO BIG and I've gained so much weight. I'm worried I'll become huuuge towards the end of my pregnancy like Jessica Simpson 😰😭😥😱

If you gain significantly more than the typical 30 pounds or so and you're average sized then in all honesty it's likely over eating or not eating healthy. If you were underweight then yes you'll gain more and you can always gain a little more water etc. Your belly should be nice and big and round and yes you'll gain in other areas like thighs, arms, butt etc. But for example my boss who is already curvy gained 60 pounds during her pregnancy  she admitted to basically using the pregnancy as an excuse to eat whatever she wanted in as much quantity as she wanted and she gained too much.

Its alot of things. Genetics, thyroid problems, gestational diabetes, other health problems, but alot of women don't realize that eating for two is a myth. You're only supposed to consume an extra 500 calories a day.

Everyone gained differently. This is my third. I gained 54 with my older two. This time I've gained 36 so far and have another month left. Gained more than I would like but everyone says I look great, no complications, no issues and my wedding ring (size 4.25) still fits. Some only gain 20, some gain 40 some more. Most importantly, eat good nutrition, lots of water and try to walk a lot.

If your gaining excessive amounts of weight..... it's your lifestyle. I started out plus size, I have o my gained 10 pounds this whole pregnancy bc I have been really conscious of not gaining too much and putting myself or my baby in danger. "Eating for two" is just a way for moms to feel better about gourging. You only have to add a piece of toast and a glass of milk (example) to your diet to be enough extra for baby. That's just an example to show how little you actually have to add to make sure baby is getting enough. As long as you watch what you eat then you should be good. Good luck!! 💙

I am a lot hungrier than usual and  if i don't  eat i get nausea, bad mood, headaches, stomach hurts, not easy to eat fruits and vegetables every time i am hungry

Not sure why Jessica Simpson did.  First time I did.  This time I step on the scale almost daily.  If I think I'm hungry but have ate a reasonable amount of time ago I drink a huge glass of water first and if I'm still hungry I drink a protein drink and if I'm still hungry I have a hard boiled egg but usually I'm I'm not still hungry.

Doesn't mean anything... I had a HEALTHLY pregnancy and gained 80 pounds. My child weighed 6 pounds and I went back down to nothing 😊

Why does it matter how big someone else is? And if you don't keep us with yourself of course you will gain a lot of weight
