how long should you hold your baby?

How much is too little and how much is too much? I feel like 30-60 minutes of quality cuddle and play time, 3 or 4 times a day is good, is that not enough. He just wants to be held or watched 24/7 if you look at a tv or phone he knows and demands to be picked up . What do I do?

I honestly hold my son a good portion of the day, but I'm a SAHM and am fortunate to have the option to. Do what works for you and your baby. I personally feel like he won't be a baby forever and won't always want me to hold him, so I'm going to enjoy it now while I can. I don't think I'll ever look back and think I held/hugged my son too much.

I hold this little booger and lay next to him all day. Hence my constant dishelved look and sore shoulders. I put him down, and sometimes in front of Mickey Mouse clubhouse to prepare myself food, wash dishes, and go to the bathroom. I even fold laundry on the floor with him between my legs. lol. He loves it. As long as we are touching, he's happy.

I hold my daughter all day, I only put her down of I need to do something fast. She cries of I put her down for more than 15 mins. Its exhausting but I wouldn't change it

My LO prefers to do things alone sometimes, he likes his own space to sleep and play, he's not super cuddley 😫 he's been that way since birth. I was the exact same way as a baby, and I'm still that way. So he literally doesn't want to be held all the time, he's a busy body and likes being on the floor playing, jumping in his exersauser, practicing pulling up, and trying to get mobile any way possible.  He loves practicing and mastering all his new skills, he's relentless sometimes and gets himself frustrated 😂 if it was up to him he'd up and running. It makes me sad sometimes he doesn't want to cuddle and be held more.

I prefer to hold my baby all day but unfortunately for both of us I have other stuff I need to do too. So he'll sit by himself when I'm cleaning or even if I'm getting a quick shower. I figure giving him that time alone gives me the time I need to do things and teaches him he's okay without me sometimes. I always snuggle him hard when I'm done.

Best thing I ever did for my son was cut the cuddling down. I used to let him nap in my arms which disturbed his sleep and made him very clingy to the point where he didn't want to go to his dad.

I put him down for a nap in his cot now and it's turned him right around. He will happily play on his own and won't scream to be picked up. He is developing now because I've stopped the coddling. If he needs a cuddle I give them but if not I leave him alone and he has his tantrum
And gets over it.

Now he will sit for ages with his dad and laugh and play with him. Doesn't scream for me anymore and I can finally have a shower in peace and not hear screaming and my husband shushing him while rocking. then me taking baby and he immediately shuts up.
