Are stiff and sore boobs normal?

for the past couple of days, my boobs have been really sore. When I touch them to try and massage out the soreness, they don't feel like fat like they used to, they just feel kind of stiff or tense under the first layer of fat and skin. I'm kind of worried because I have a family history of breast cancer and I wanna make sure this is common or normal instead of a cancerous tumor.
