Would you try and claim $20 unpaid from an old job?

Question

I was looking through my finances (tax season and all) and noticed that at a job I had last year the boss owes me $20. It's not a lot but my ex boss was terrible, has no clue how to run business, and is known for being a scammer. I want to say something because the principle of the matter is I earned that money and I know she's done this to other employees. My husband thinks I should let it go. What do you think? Feel free to comment.

People act like money isn't a big deal but let's be re, for many people that could be TWO hours of unpaid work. Shit, how would they feel if you milked there clock for two hours and sat in the bathroom. That's payroll fraud. Get your money girl. A simple, " I was paid $___ and I should have been paid $___. When may I collect the difference?" Should suffice.

I would  try and get  the  money back, but its not  worth  it if you have to get lawyers involved. And she might know that and not give it up so easily. Be ready with all paperwork to give her. But if it takes more than a work day  to get  it all put together  I wouldn't  bother, id rather  spend those hours working.

I would definitely bring it up to your boss because it could have just mistake considering the amount of it. I have had it where i didnt get paid for a job i did and it was just a mistake or have gotten in trouble for not showing up to a job i was taken off of. Its just a mistake or miscommunication. If it was a mistake it should be easy to take care of with a simple conversation with your employer. If this is something that happens often i would be more concerned and see what your boss has to say first.

If I didn't have social anxiety, I would try to claim it. ESPECIALLY if this person is known to do this to other people. I'd try to take him to court and gather all the evidence I can. Even if it is just $20, you worked hard for that $20, and deserve to fully paid for your labor.

I'd personally be too embarrassed as it was so long ago but if that doesn't bother you then go for it, you're entitled to it after all
