Am I just being petty?

Question

So I'm on the last 3 weeks of very possibly my last pregnancy. I'm excited to meet her and share her with my family and kind of have the spotlight if you wish on us for just a short while, but my wonderful brother-in-law and his wife are trying for a baby. They're 20 and their marriage is super unstable. They're constantly fighting and dragging everyone into their crap, in my opinion they should not be even thinking of trying, but they think they're well on their way to living the big life (they're not, they're living with our grandparents and have no intentions of moving out anytime soon) and they think they're super ready for a baby (she has a 2 year old from a previous relationship who's a monster) anyways they're the type of people who the second they find out they're going to just start telling everyone and making it all about them. She thinks she's pregnant and I just 😪 maybe I'm just fed up with them so this just frustrates me that much more, but I guess my baby is coming from a stable, financial safe household and I would like to just be in front of all the drama for a minute...is that wrong? Am I just being petty?

I have a family member who's similar. I've gone over and over situations in my head trying to figure out why she does this and that and I just conclude with "not my life, not my problem." I know my child is coming into a happy, healthy, financially stable, loving home and that's all that matters to me. It saves me from stressing about other people's problems and issues.

I have a sister in law that's the same way. My father in law told me not to tell her I'm pregnant again or she'll be trying to get pregnant as soon as she can. Honestly, it was so validating to hear him say that, to know someone else thinks she's as ridiculous as I do!

I can totally see where your coming from!! When I found out I was pregnant with my son I announced it and a week later my sister got on Facebook with her bf (who she just caught cheating) and their son and announced they were expecting😬
Long story short, our kids were born two days apart and now so far, every year she snags the first available weekend and makes everything about her and her family. 
She's my youngest sister and she (tho I love her) is one of the most conceded people I've ever known. She also loves to tell me she knows how hard it is to have 4 kids even tho she only just had her second!!

My sister is the same way. I got pregnant and am due in May, she started trying and is now pregnant after saying she wasn't having anymore kids for years. Now, she's announcing 2 days before my baby shower. Drives me crazy.

My situation is a little different because my family doesn't like to make it a habit of trying to steal each other's spotlight. My husband and I decided to announce our pregnancy on Christmas since we would be with the entire family. I found out Christmas Eve that my older sister's boyfriend was planning to propose. I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out but we decided to stay the course. Everything turned out fine. People can be happy for more than one person at a time. And, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but it's kind of hypocritical for you to demand the spotlight while being upset with someone because you think they are trying to do the same thing.

I have a sister with similar issues, but her stuff has no relation to my stuff. While I can see you feeling concerned for their child given their situation, their drama or their getting pregnant should not impact you or your pregnancy or your joy in any way, if it does then yes that is petty to be completely honest.

Am I just being petty?
