Would you keep things from your ex?

I don't know if it's appropriate to post it here but I just want to know your opinions and thoughts. Why do you think your boyfriend/partner keep things (e.g. a letter given by her ex when they were together)  and how would you react to it? 
They broke up a couple of years ago and i've been dating him for 2years. I asked him and he answered that their break up wasn't horrible horrible and they had closure so theirs nothing to worry about

I'm a big fan of discarding anything that reminds me of them, unless it was expensive then I'm keeping that for myself, or selling it if I don't want it. Regardless of whether it was a horrible breakup or not, I think keeping things like letters is so unnecessary, you'd only keep them if you're weren't completely over the person.

That's disrespectful in my opinion. It'd be one thing if it was like a stuffed animal, but letters are unnecessary honestly. I'd think he wasn't over her. You're not overreacting at all honestly. Best of luck!

I'm on the other side of things. 
I've kept things from all of my relationships. Not because I'm not over them but because I've learned a lot in each of those relationships. I also had good times.

I think it's different if he's constantly has them out or is reading them a lot. I also think it's an issue if they are easily accessible. The things I have are in a box in storage.

Material things like jewelry I'll defiantly keep. I do have pictures, theatre tickets, a dried rose, stuffed animal etc from my boyfriend that I kept when we broke up last year. Granted I never moved on from him, but I don't think I'd have ever thrown it out. I kept it all in a box in the back of my closet. I never went through it- but it was more of a reminder to me about what I want out of a relationship. My boyfriend is amazing and I wanted a reminder not to settle for anything else. But I also wanted a reminder that I needed someone that could commit to me and wouldn't run at the first sign of trouble.

I see no big deal. I still have love letters and cards from exes. They don't mean anything are just memories. I also have pictures and little tokens and stuff. Most of its all in a box. Some pictures (like a penguin one) is on the wall because I mean...it's penguins lol

My fiance let me burn it all because it bothered me. I was doing laundry and he had old letters and pictures in his army bag. It made me feel better. He's so understanding
