Do you know anyone in the US who is afraid to leave their home without a gun?

I've been seeing some ppl from other countries recently saying things like "I couldn't imagine living in the US where ppl are afraid to leave home without their guns" but I don't think that's really an accurate representation of the US? 🤔 I live in the south and although ppl are very enthusiastic about guns I've never met anyone who was afraid to leave the house without their gun, only ppl who are afraid to not have one in their house. I actually don't think I've ever seen anyone open carry either now that I think about it.

But then it got me thinking, maybe I'm just lucky and haven't met anyone like this. So, have you? Do you know of anyone who is actually afraid to leave home without a gun (I suppose in their purse, car, belt, etc)?

It's definitely not that we are scared to leave the house without one. We just don't. You never know what situation you will be in so we like to be prepared.

I live in the south and no one I know is scared to be without their gun. BUT I have an uncle in Oregon and he goes EVERYWHERE with his and refuses to go somewhere that he can't have it. (like a school) He's not so much AFRAID, because nothing in fucking Eugene, Oregon is scary. But because he's a weird white guy and he's obsessed with his right to carry because he thinks it's "intimidating" and it makes him some kinda badass. People like those are the reason I don't want anyone carrying guns in public legally unless they're a cop or something.

I have been in a hostage situation traveling with my mom as a child. I live in Chicago, and walk 4 miles round trip for work. We own guns but I have never felt the need to carry one, not even once.

There was a 'Whats in your purse/bag' post a few months ago, I was surprised to see the number of people on here who mentioned their gun was among the must-haves in their purse. Run a search on Glow, it should turn up.

My father in law claims he is afraid to leave home without his gun... I think it just makes him feel good about himself though.

The person I know isn't afraid to leave without their gun, but it's become habit for them to have it on them any time they leave. They don't trust the cops in our area enough to protect them, and we live pretty close to a rough town.

I don't know anyone who is afraid but I know a few people who carry. My dad does but not all the time. He's not afraid to not. My uncle has a concealed carry permit, but again he doesn't HAVE to have his gun. So, nope. Never met anyone afraid to leave the house without one.

Both my husband & my mom never leave the house without their guns. And it's not because they are scared to, but you just never know what could happen so they like to be prepared.

Nope, I don't know anyone who does this. I have severe anxiety and PTSD. The agoraphobia is real, and even I don't feel unsafe enough to carry a gun at all times.

If someone does, then they are weirdly obsessed with guns and should probably calm down or get help.
