Controlling "Friend?"
I have tried numerous times to turn the other cheek and be the bigger person. at this point, I really don't know what else to do. I'm honestly contemplating cutting this "friend" off completely, as I'm nearing graduation and I'm getting ready to move on with the rest of my life, and I do not need the added drama as I make my way through college. Recently (over the past month or two), this person will text me the most random shit ever. "Did you give (name's) sweatshirt back to him? You should really consider giving it back to him." "I really want to do this event with you, but you shouldn't be allowed to go. It isn't fair." "Hey, just wondering if you ever gave him his sweatshirt back?" "When you borrow money from someone, you should really pay them back." "Whatever you do, don't talk to him. Oh, and don't talk to this one. Definitely don't talk to that one." first of all, the sweatshirt situation; I SPECIFICALLY, IN PERSON, ASKED THE GUY IF HE WANTED ME TO BRING HIS SWEATSHIRT BACK TO HIM, AS I HAD WASHED IT FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE, AND HE TOLD ME POLITELY THAT I COULD KEEP IT BECAUSE HE WAS GETTING A NEW ONE SOON. second of all, this person has no business telling me who to pay back. it's literally a couple of bucks. it's hard for me to get any money, as I don't have a job at the moment and cannot simply ask my parents to fork-up money for me. THIRD OF ALL, THIS PERSON DEFINITELY HAS NO BUSINESS TELLING ME WHO AND WHO NOT TO TALK TO. I'm sorry, but you are not my mother. thank you very much. lastly, this person will text me at the weirdest times and say: "We need to talk sometime. We need to talk." with my anxiety already being a daily struggle, I'm honestly over feeling this added stress. I am all for in-person communication and confrontation, so the next time that we "talk," I think that I should lay down the law. what do you guys think ? is this person toxic ?
