How long should my daughter be feeding?

My daughter is 6 weeks old and is exclusively breastfed. She will also go up to 4 hours without eating. Even if I try to force her awake. She isn't running any fevers. Doesn't seem to be getting sick. She does have really bad reflux, and is on medication fot it. She only feeds for about 10 at a time, But Sometimes as little as 8 minutes. How long should she be eating for? What is normal and what isn't?

Sometimes my son nurses 5 or 10 minutes. Other times he takes forever and dozes off. I stopped trying to time how long to go between feedings and how long to nurse. I just let him take the lead and it's been less stressful since.

Depends on your supply and weight gain of your baby. Lethargy and oversleeping can be signs of too little breast milk, just as a fast feeding can be overactive letdown with great milk supply. If weight isn't going up go to a lactation consultant or get a scale where you can measure ounces before or after a feeding. Good luck!

My LO is EBF. He will be 7 weeks on Tuesday. When we first started breastfeeding, he would go 20 min each side. Then is slacked down to 15 each side. In the last week- week and a half, his feedings are anywhere from 10-20 min. He feeds every 2-3 hrs during day. He usual does a long stretch after his bath (anywhere from 7-8pm) then wakes up around 1/130am m. From then on he feeds every 2 hours. 
A few days ago I guess we went through a growth spurt. He was feeding 10 or less every 1 1/2 - 2 hours. As of now, we are going 12-20 min every 2-3 hrs. I offer one breast, burp him and keep offering it until he doesn't want it. Burp him again then offer the other breast. Sometimes he takes it (if he does, he usually goes 3-5 min and is done).

I had the same question and my doctor said to monitor diaper output. 8+ wet diapers plus poopy ones (3 I think, but it could be less). Each baby feeds different so
It can be a good indicator l.

Another good indicator is weight checks. In Ontario you can have your baby weighed at the public health clinic. Not sure where your from but try and find somewhere to get baby weighted to ensure weight gain

My 9 week old daughter feeds for a long time every time! Average is 30 minutes. I don't know if I have a slow flow or what but she just keeps going and I have to cut her off. I wish I knew how much she's taking in each time. She sometimes spits up after but not always. She also goes really slow and dozes off during it at times so she's not feeding aggressively that whole time.

My daughter is 8 weeks and usually eats for about 10 on each side too.

My son eats on one side per feeding for about 8 minutes. He has already gained 4+ lbs at 6 weeks. I have an oversupply and fast letdown. It all depends on your supply and your baby. If she's gaining and has dirty diapers, it's fine I'm sure 😊
