Neighbors weed smoke stinks
So I have zero problem with my neighbors doing whatever the heck they want. However, I live in an apartment and when my neighbors smoke weed, which is semi-regularly, the smell comes into my apartment. I have attempted to seal off any places where our apartments connect in any way, like the utility access for the plumbing, with duct tape, but still the smell comes in. I find it really disgusting.
Is there any way I can ask them to stop or be more considerate? Like, I'd rather they just smoke outside so I can close my windows while they do it and it won't be inside the building.
I haven't really interacted with them before so I feel like it'd be weird for our first interaction to be me saying "hey so about all the weed I know you've been smoking..."
I don't know if it'd be appropriate to say anything to the property manager. People are allowed to smoke in their units (ew) but idk what the rule is on weed. It's still illegal here. But idk if the property manager would care.
Idk how many more scented candles I can burn to drown out the stink before I get to the end of my rope! I've lived here for a year and plan to stay another 7 months.
Update: I had my husband, who is nicer than I am and also less annoyed by the stink, write them a note saying we think the pot smell is coming from them and asking them to please try to ventilate better next time they smoke. He mentioned that my sense of smell is stronger now that I'm pregnant so hopefully they will take the hint. They seem like ok people so fingers crossed they're not assholes about it.
