relationship... help?

Question

So I met this guy at one of my friends birthday parties and we were joking around with our group of friends and he seemed pretty cool. A few days later my friend tells me she gave him my number and that night he started texting me. He seems pretty nice and we ended up texting until about 1 in the morning. I had to go but he said he'd text me tomorrow and we've been texting  all day. He seems really nice and we set up a few times to get together. Twice with friends and one time we're going to go skating together without friends.

I, being excited, told some of my friends and they all had something to say about him.

One of them said that she didn't like him that much bc she's in band with him and she says he hits on a lot of girls. The others were pretty excited for me and say he's pretty okay.

I've had my fair share of bad relationships and wasn't planning on getting into another after a bunch of horrible stuff when down last time but I want to get to know him a little better.

My problem is that while I want to get to know him better, I'm worried I won't be able to trust him as much as I should not only because of what happened last time but because of what that one friend said.

Do you guys thinks it's a good idea to see for myself and make my own opinion of him? Or should I just stick with what that one friend said and just not mess with him? Im willing to give him and myself a chance bc I think I'm ready. It if you guys could give me your input that would be awesome. Thanks and Sorry this is so long but I really need help.

Make your own opinion. Get to know him well (aka don't start dating next week) and clearly tell him what you have been through and what you expect out of a relationship. After that, it's up to him to choose to be with you or not based on your needs.

Allow yourself to form your own opinion, but trust your gut.  If you get a bad vibe, believe in it enough to be cautious. He may prove your other friend wrong. Maybe he flirts because he's not in a relationship, which isn't against any rules. If he did it while in a relationship, then I could see that being a potential red flag, but even then, you don't know all of the facts. Good luck.

I think if you saw enough good qualities in him the first time you met, and you have enough to talk about to keep the texting active until 1am, you should really give him a chance. It's good to trust friends but they can still be wrong. This friend is looking at him from her perspective. Maybe if you give him a chance you will find he's everything you didn't know you wanted. It is worth it to me....is it worth it to you?

If you don't trust him don't get with him. You have to see for yourself and have trust. You win or you lose
