Trans people and gender roles
I just want to start this post by saying that I'm in no means trying to be offensive or to bash on transgender people. I'm actually very for LGBT rights. This is just a doubt that came to mind as I was reading these multiple posts on gender roles.
Just to clarify: the consensus on this group is that we dislike gender roles right? Women don't only exist to pop up babies and men should be able to be stay-at-home dads if they wished.
I know three people who have transitioned. Two MtF and one FtM. Especially with my female friends, I have noticed that since their transition, they fall more and more into the stereotypes of how girls are supposed to be. Both of them wear makeup, do their hair, love dressing up and are honestly very flamboyant. My male friend is kinda also following these gender roles. As he's now dating this girl who's leaving him broke as he spends all his money on dates and gifts to her, while she doesn't contribute to the relationship (financially at least).
My question is, don't you think that gender roles actually make your transition easier?
