Opinions on delayed cord clamping?

I'm 39 weeks today and I have been looking into the benefits of delayed cord clamping... does anyone have experience with this, or opinions?

I delayed clamping for around 45 minutes. It may have been less if I wasn't breastfeeding DS in the birth pool while delaying clamping. I got out to deliver the placenta.

It should be delayed if possible. Generally, it isn't that long a period of time and it's very good for the baby.

It's SOP at my doctor's office, and I'll definitely be delaying until the cord stops pulsing.

We delayed with my last baby and I was glad we did. We plan to again. Her cord was short, so while waiting to deliver the placenta, she only reached to my tummy area but once it was out I was able to hold her up higher!
