Registering?

I just read your supposed to register early at the hospital and I never knew that. I'm 39 weeks 3 days, should I go to my hospital and register? And where exactly do I go to do it? Labor and Delivery? I'm so confused 😅

Call your doctor and your hospital. I registered at nine weeks. Filled out some very basic paper work and then registered over the phone. I didn't have to go there at all. If you can register now by phone worth it, one less thing to worry about the day of labor. Good luck.

Call your OB office and ask what the registration process is. My hospital does not do pre-registration in person, it is done online.

They told me to do it 6 weeks before due date so I'll be doing it in a month or so.

You might be able to print a form online and send it in?

I did it around 10-11w. It was some basic questions about mrsa, my health background, and who both parents are. We also called to let them know dad has special needs (he'll be in a wheelchair) so we could hopefully get a larger delivery room when the time comes

Talk to your doctor. A lot of hospitals do tours of their labor and delivery facilities for expectant parents. My husband and I just did our tour. They  show you everything and go over the process of what to do when you need to go and arrive at the hospital.

You don't HAVE to but it's definitely recommended because you don't want to be filling out paperwork while you're in labor

Usually you can do it over the phone, your OB's office should've instructed you. I'd just call the hospital and ask how to pre register for maternity services.
