Is it safe ??

FTM here and I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant I just got my breast pump in the mail. I haven't started to locate yet but wanted to try the pump out for a min or two to see how it's feel. Make sure I have the correct breast shield sizes. Do you know it is safe to use/test out while pregnant??? I have the spectra S2 plus !

Do not pump while pregnant. Your ob may give you the go ahead the last couple weeks of pregnancy but breast stimulation for women that are not currently breastfeeding can stimulate preterm labor.

Eh I'd wait. Just to be safe. I don't think anything will start labor if your body isn't ready but because nipple stimulation can cause contractions id wait til you're farther along.

Did you get breast pump from insurance? Or just buy your own? If you got it from insurance how did you get it so early? My dr said they won't until 36 weeks. Just wondering. I'm 27 weeks and would love to get everything ready rather then wait til the last minute. Thx
