miscarriage.?

Does the risk of miscarriage really drop when you hit 12 weeks? I have been anxiously listening to my babies heart beat with my doppler just making sure i can hear it. But reading everything they all say once you hit 12 weeks or go into 2nd trimester risk of miscarriage is less then 1%.

I don't mean to frighten you or anyone else but it's still possible unfortunately.

I lost my first pregnancy at 21w3d, my waters broke at 21weeks and our daughter was still born 3 days later. The doctor couldn't tell me if it was my cervix not being closed properly that made my waters brake or if it was something else, I was having contractions all day I thought they where braxton hicks, our daughter also had a blood clot so it could have been that to.

I'm 19w4d with our second and everything thing is going great this time, my doctor is getting the ultrasound people to check my cervix every visit and he might even make to go on sick leave at 21weeks. I hope so I have that much sick leave sitting there and all the nonsense Iv been dealing with from my boss I'm over it and want out.

There's always a chance no matter how far along you are. Yes, it does decrease but I lost my baby at 13 weeks unfortunately. My Dr suggested waiting until 14 weeks to announce.

We lost our little girl at 14.6 weeks. 2 weeks after announcing thinking we were in the clear. Anything can happen even if your risk goes down

Your chance of miscarriage drops significantly but it unfortunately is still possible to have one. My doctor recommended that my husband and I not announce until after the 12 weeks mark passed so that our chances of miscarriage significantly go down.
