Helping labor start?

Hi ladies! Did any of you do anything to help kick start labor? I am 38+1 but want to start doing things around 39 weeks to coax the little guy out. Thanks!

Just please don't try castor oil. It can be dangerous for you and baby

I tried castor oil & nothing happened.. not even a trip to the bathroom .. little guy is definitely being stubborn 😩 need some suggestions as well ..

Baby will come when baby is ready. I did everything. Baby came at 41 weeks.

Sex will leave prostaglandin on your cervix which will help soften it and encourage effacement. I'm assuming you have a male partner.

There are numerous other options, though your body will go when it's ready to go.

I will strongly, super strongly, advise against using castor oil or other laxatives to start labor. Castor oil can make you very sick. I was told to try it 16 years ago with my oldest and it caused intense pain and such severe diarrhea i was in danger of needing to go to the hospital. If it had induced labor, no way could i have handled it at that point.
