embedded navel piercing?

I got my navel pierced about a month ago and the area is super sensitive and red. I noticed my skin looked like it started growing away the initial hole, and finally last night I saw it was starting to grow up the ball. I took it out this morning because it freaked me out. I'm not sure I did the right thing but look at it and tell me what you think. Sorry it's gross looking 😭
