natural with pitocin??

I am getting induced on Friday I really wanted to go natural but I have made no progression I have been stuck at 1cm for two weeks did any one go natural with pitocin I really do not want the epidural

I've heard that pitocin makes the contractions more painful. I had a waitress get in my face and tell me "no matter what they say, say NO to pictocin!" it's so weird how strangers just feel compelled to talk baby with you cuz you're pregnant.

With my first I went to 42+2 before scheduling induction. Potocin contractions were strong with no progression. After maxing out potocin wound up with a c-section. I can only speak for myself, I couldn't stand up to the potocin contractions it was too much I needed the epidural and was only 3 1/2 cm dilated. I have done it once with pitocin and no pain meds. I also had one completely natural. I'm being induced tomorrow with pitocin and fully intend to not use pain meds.

I've had two labors with pitocin, and no epidural. It's hard... but if you have your mind set, you can definitely do it.

Is there a reason they are inducing you? Could you wait a bit longer to see if you can go naturally? I'm 40 and 4 days today but luckily my midwives will let me go to 42 weeks as long as the baby is healthy on my ultrasound on Friday. I'd like to avoid pitocin as well since I'm afraid I'd break down with the stronger contractions

How far are you? Im scheduling my induction on Thursday and was thinking no epidural. Im 39.2. Not dilated/effaced.

My water broke this morning at 5:30 am. No contractions nothing. Went to hospital, got checked, not even 1cm dialated, cervix still high. Dr sent me home and wanted me to come back at 6pm. Came back and still the same. She sent me home. Induction is scheduled for 6:30 am tomorrow if nothing happens naturally tonight. She said that would give me oxytocin I think that's what it's called? My Dr said she wants me trying to go naturally before they induce me. I'm 39 weeks and 2 days today

My water broke naturally with both my 16 month old and newborn and both times I had no epidural. They were both fast but painful deliveries. With my newborn I did use nitrous which took the edge off.

I had planned to see how i got on with gas and air. Was nervous about an epi and putting more drugs into my system. In the end, labour pains started last monday night. Lasted until thurs, mostly in my back (she was back to back in the end). In and out of maternity assessment till thurs i couldn't handle anymore pain. By that point the epidural was a relief. Gas and air had helped a wee bit but not enough. progress was so slow i ended up on a hormone drip to try to move things along, it didn't help quick enough and baby was in distress so she was delivered by foreceps in theatre. The epidural was a god send for those hours waiting to progress. Also meant they could move quicker to get me theatre. Only downside was it gave me a major case of the shakes. If that happens, don't worry, its normal. It's horrible but it will calm down. 
So I would suggest go with the flow. I hope you make more progress soon and don't end up like me. But remember there are no awards for tolerating pain. Pain is exhausting, if it's too much take what help you can get. Best of luck sweetie.

Epidural is amazing lol. I didn't want it ether but it came to the point of being awake for 3 days and I was exhausted. Go in with an open mind. I had oxytocin (was induced at 37w) and it really did make the contractions come intense and fast. At the end of the day it had to be done for her safety. Open mind during labour really is the best way. Good luck xxx
