Pacifier weaning

My daughter goes to sleep every night with a pacifier. Sometimes she cries when she wake up without it in her mouth. If your baby sleeps with a pacifier, when are you planning on weaning? Do you have concerns your baby will get in a habit of sucking on his/her fingers instead? I personally prefer a pacifier over fingers. I was a finger sucker and it was an extremely hard habit to break.
